Tim Burgess

As well as being lead singer of The Charlatans, Tim Burgess is a compulsive record collector, DJing all over the world, with intoxicating sets featuring indie, post-punk, electro and Northern Soul.

The Charlatans are largely influenced by Acid House, 60’s West Coast Psychedelia and the Syd Barrett Pink Floyd era. 2007 saw The Charlatans controversially releasing on free download-format what has critically been received as their best album to date, You Cross My Path.

Burgess has collaborated with The Chemical Brothers, both live and on the Push The Button album, Mark Ronson, Peter Hook (New Order), and Mexican psychedelic band Zoé, and is now singer for The Chavs, along with ex-Libertine Carl Barat, Primal Scream keyboard player Martin Duffy, drummer Andy Burrows and Jamie Reynolds (Klaxons). He also produced "You Dig The Tunnel And I'll Hide The Soil", the 2009 album by She Set stage headliners Hatcham Social.

Living between LA and London, Burgess has recently been touring with Mark Ronson and is recording a song to feature on his forthcoming film soundtrack.
