More bands join These New Puritans, Liquid Liquid, Mystery Jets, Comanechi, Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and more for this year’s festival on September 4-5 2010.

If you thought Offset’s 2010 line up thus far – a radical mix of cutting edge pioneers (Liquid Liquid, Cluster, Charles de Goal), critically lauded acts (Mystery Jets, These New Puritans, 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster) and brand new, hotly tipped, emergent bands (Flats, Factory Floor, Male Bonding, Comanechi) was outstanding enough as it is, brace yourself, because it is only getting better.

Among the acts being announced for Offset 2010 are the likes of Atari Teenage Riot, Chrome Hoof, Egyptian Hip Hop, Good Shoes and much more, all of whom will play over the weekend of September 4-5, deep in the lush environs of Hainault Country Park, but a 30 minute ride away from London.

The mighty Atari Teenage Riot are the headliners for Sunday, and a more apt way to close out this wildly revolutionary and groundbreaking festival cannot be imagined. Responsible for coining the phrase “digital hardcore” and virtually creating a whole new genre of incendiary, punk-driven electro, this rare live appearance is sure to leave an indelible impression. As will the live theatrics of the strange, and strangely compelling, Chrome Hoof, the London band whose “experimental orchestra” encompasses metal, electro, funk, disco and chamber music in their sound; not to mention a startling visual punch.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Hip Hop will lead the indie charge with their gloriously mutating brand of doss pop, where anything can and often does happen. Good Shoes will also be present and correct, playing short, sharp, bursts of indie brilliance from their new album “No Hope, No Future”, while French duo John and Jehn will have people swooning with their meltingly beautiful love songs.

Ali Love, Late of the Pier Soundsystem, Batty Bass featuring Hannah Holland & Mama Shamone, Serge Santiago, Dan Beaumont (Disco Bloodbath), Punks Jump Up (Kitsune), Mikki Most and Ian Robinson (Trailer Trash), Rory Phillips (Durrr), Stopmakingme, The Lovely Jonjo, Wild Geese and more to join the lineup!

So, did we mention that those legendarily incendiary party starters Trailer Trash are curating the dance tent at this year’s Offset? And that the theme for the dance tent this year is Miami Beach Party – with all the requisite beach balls, cocktails, palm trees and all round summer fun which that entails?

So, on Saturday, Trailer Trash have got Late of the Pier bringing their soundsystem to the Offset masses, playing a genre-hopping DJ set which will undoubtedly reflect their own mindbending proclivities, as seen on their massively acclaimed debut album “Fantasy Black Channel”. Joining them are London’s very own Batty Bass, the clubbing institution with Hannah Holland and Mama Shamone at the helm, Kitsune white hot heroes Punks Jump Up, Bugged Out’s Stopmakingme, Trailer Trash’s very own Mikki Most and Ian Robinson, and Harry James from East End doom rockers O Children among many others, creating a madly hopping environment like no other.

And then, on Sunday, Trailer Trash have tapped reborn electro pop maestro Ali Love to head up a packed dance lineup hot on the heels of his long awaited debut album, “Love Harder”. Along for the ride is Durrr’s legendary Rory Phillips, and the world renowned Serge Santiago, one of the hottest and most lauded producers in the UK, Dan Beaumont, figurehead of the highly influential, world conquering dance crew Disco Bloodbath, proto-house enigmas Wild Geese, dancefloor starters Riotous Rockers and The Lovely Jonjo, whose Hot Boy Dancing Spot nights are causing riots all over the East End.

They join an all-star cast of the best and brightest in cutting edge music today, deep in the heart of the Hainault Forest, just 30 minutes from London by tube. As well as the music on offer, this year’s Offset Festival will host a huge indoor vintage clothing market, fanzine counters and record stalls, and even an old-fashioned Victorian funfair (Ferris wheels, chairoplanes, a helter skelter, candy floss and swing boats!), plus craft workshops (learn dressmaking, screenprinting and metalworks design), in addition to our famed choice picks of delicious foods from around the world.

Three months until Offset and this year is shaping up to be our biggest yet, with some phenomenal additions in the form of Mystery Jets, The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Monotonix, Comanechi and many others.

Set deep in the heart of the lush Hainault Forest and taking place over the weekend of September 4-5, this year Offset is already boasting the likes of No Wave pioneers Liquid Liquid, critically lauded art rockers These New Puritans, white hot Sub Pop signings Male Bonding, legendary Krautrock innovators Cluster and Brooklyn’s singular purveyors of eerie, hazy electro Telepathe, among many others. To that distinguished first round we can now add London-via-Eel Pie quartet Mystery Jets, who look set to conquer the summer with their forthcoming brand new album, stocked full with shiny anthems-in-waiting.  Also making a storming return to the live arena are the incredible psyche/garage heavyweights The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed new album.

Tearing up the stage – both literally and figuratively – will be the famously untethered Monotonix from Tel Aviv, who have been bowling over audiences from one end of the globe to the next with their wildly unpredictable onstage antics and furious brand of garage rock, as will Comanechi, the punk rock duo who produced one of the most acclaimed debuts of 2010, and Lovvers, who carry with them a well-deserved reputation as being an unmissable and ferocious live act. And on the dance side of things, returning electro pop juggernaut Ali Love will ignite the crowds with tracks from his long awaited debut album while Durrr’s Rory Phillips will deliver a masterclass in how to destroy the dancefloor with an undoubtedly propulsive DJ set. And true to Offset’s policy in spotlighting the best and brightest artists from across the world, Texan/London experimentalists Sh*t and Shine, and Parisian nutters 10LEC6 will be joining Graffiti Island, The Murder Act, Round, Flats and Oral Oral.

Once again, only the most compelling and groundbreaking in music and art, from the fresh to the classic, is offered at Offset – and this all-ages event is only 30 minutes from central London by tube to boot. Performances from over 200 artists will be joined by an all-new craft space and pop-up workshops, our eclectic vintage clothing market, organic and delectable foods from a multitude of cuisines, and even a Victorian fun-fair.

Over the years we’ve had some very exciting artists through our gates but this could potentially be the most exciting influential band Offset has announced yet! For Offset 2010 we’re pleased to be flying Liquid Liquid over from New York for what will be – amazingly – only their second-ever appearance in England.

These New Puritans join the helm for a very special live performance, having produced this year’s most groundbreaking album, plus Telepathe will be flying in from Brooklyn for a late night dancefloor-friendly live set.

Legendary Krautrock group (and Eno collaborators) Cluster make a very rare live performance, alongside pioneering cold wave band Charles De Goal, who will be preceded by a special Angular Records cold wave showcase. And, fresh from producing their eagerly-awaited second album with Diplo, Rolo Tomassi are set to return to our hardcore stage for their second Offset performance.

After one of the most jaw dropping performances of Offset 2009, Sub Pop signing Male Bonding will be moving up to main stage this year, along with Bo Ningen, a band whose hair-raising antics at last year’s event were hailed by the Observer as their best discovery of the weekend. Plus Factory Floor, O.Children, Invasion, Electricity in our Homes and more!  See the full list of names here.

Offset 2010 will bring together over 180 artists, which means more than 160 artists are yet to be announced, including headliners!
