Guess What

Luke Warmcop (drums, percussions) and Graham Mushnik (organ, piano, melodica) formed Guess What in 2005, aged 19. Their debut EP, “Guess what Plato told me”, recorded in their French hometown, was a mix of experimental drum loops and atmospheric jazz/bossa themes in quite a metaphysical and cosmic mood. In 2006 they recorded the soundtrack to “Danger Island” – a science fiction B-movie – in Amsterdam. None of these 2 projects were released.
Warmcop and Mushnik then founded the label Catapulte Records with Juste Akiss, with whom they play in other bands (Helium & Eggs, Patrickbruel) and moved to London.
Since 2008 the duet have been performing live in London and Europe (France, Italy, Spain, Slovenia & Croatia) a set of instrumental pieces dedicated to Russian astronaut Yuri Gagarin – hence their recent album “Yuri Gagarin – 12 Modern Odes to History’s Greatest Spaceman” (on Catapulte Records) -; they appear on stage in masks, turbans and togas. Guess What’s new directions seem to focus on the mighty Italian “Giallo” cinema…
