Disconcerts formed in May 2007, but without this prior knowledge you could be easily deceived that they are from an era thirty years earlier where post-punk reigned. Rick Trust lays the quick beats whilst Alan Pilkington produces heavy basslines. With no fear of sharp objects, Hugo Hamper-Potts cuts into the songs with discorded riffs and vocal one-liners, which will make it difficult to refrain from addiction.
Hearing Disconcerts perform will conjure up nods towards the likes of Gang of Four, PiL, Wire, The Wake and Bowie’s Berlin albums, Disconcerts are kind like everything we love wrapped up in one fantastic package.
